Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ) – A Beacon of Engineering Since 1773

Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ) is the third oldest technical university in the world, founded in 1773 during the reign of Ottoman Sultan Mustafa III under the name "School of Naval Engineers." Over centuries it evolved to become Turkey's and the region's leading technical university.

The Campus
İTÜ has four main campuses distributed across Istanbul: Maçka, Taşkışla in Taksim, Ayazağa (the largest, housing most faculties and facilities), and Gümüşsuyu on the Bosphorus. This diversity of locations allows students to enjoy all areas of Istanbul.

İTÜ focuses primarily on engineering and applied sciences, and includes:

İTÜ has produced many Turkish government ministers, major company CEOs, and prominent scientists. The university ranks highly internationally in engineering specifically and holds research partnerships with NASA and leading European and Asian institutions. It is also a center for a large number of Turkish patents.

Costs and Scholarships
As a public university, international student fees range annually from $800 to $2,500. YTB government scholarships are available in addition to internal excellence scholarships for outstanding graduate students.
